The Hermione is the world's largest sailing replica of an 18th century wooden frigate. A French warship, in service from 1779 to 1793, rebuilt in the Rochefort Arsenal in 1997 and launched in salt water in 2014.
She then made her first historic voyage to the United States in 2015, followed by others such as Brittany (2016), the Mediterranean (2018) and Normandy (2019).
In September 2021, she will reach the port of Bayonne, in Anglet, for a major maintenance project. The year 2023 will see the restoration and more general maintenance of the whole boat continue. The teams of employees and volunteers are still working together day after day.
